Egg Poach
If you like egg fry but wish to reduce its calories or greasiness, then this oil-free egg poach recipe could be your best option. Yes, you heard it right, this egg poach preparation requires NO butter or cooking oil and still tastes as good as a “normal” egg fry. Ok, make it almost as good….
Note: The pan size you select for this recipe will depend on the number of eggs you want to poach at a time; i.e. a bigger pan will be required for more eggs, maximum four at a time.
The recipe given here is for one egg. In case you need to make more, you should normally just multiply all ingredients, in equal proportion. However, PLEASE DON’T INCREASE THE QUANTITY OF VINEGAR TO MORE THAN 1 TEASPOON, OTHERWISE IT WILL ADD A VERY SOUR TASTE TO THE EGG. BUT DO INCREASE THE AMOUNT OF WATER PROPORTIONATELY.
Ingredients
Egg-1
Water-1 cup
Vinegar-1/4 teaspoon
Salt-1/4 teaspoon
Method:
-
In a small pan, pour the water and bring it to a boil.
-
Add the vinegar and salt.
-
Break the egg in a small bowl. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU DON’T BREAK THE YOLK OF THE EGG.
-
Gently pour the egg into the pan.
-
Both the egg white and yolk will soon set.
-
Gently take it out of the water and put it in a plate.
Your poached egg is ready.
