Ingredients
Whole wheat flour (and NOT refined flour that most commercial preparations use)- 1 cup
Milk- 1+1/2 cup
Egg-1
Sugar (powdered)-1 tablespoon
Salted Butter-1 tablespoon
Baking powder- 1/2 teaspoon
Vanilla essence-2-3few drops
Method
Over an open blender jar, break the egg and put in both the egg white and yellow together ensuring that no egg shells go in the jar. Pour in the milk now and blend well. To this mixture, add the whole wheat flour, baking powder, vanilla essence and butter and again blend well. Let this mixture stand for 15 minutes. This enables the wheat flour to absorb the liquid and to turn the mixture into a nice pouring consistency.
(Tip: Use this “waiting time” to lay down your breakfast table, because you can’t afford to waste any time once the waffles are ready.)
Take an electric waffle maker and pour the batter into each mould. Cover, switch on and cook for the time indicated in your waffle maker’s manual or till the waffles become nice and golden. Remove from the waffle maker onto a plate. You can pour some maple syrup, honey or chocolate sauce of your choice.
Your waffles are ready. They do taste better when they are hot.
