Rose Flavoured Lassi
Lassi is a kind of an Indian yoghurt shake which is very popular in North India, especially in Punjab. It is one of the most preferred drinks and helps in keeping the body cool in hot summers when the day time temperature ranges between 40 degrees C to 47 degrees C (100 degrees F to 110 degrees F).
Lassi also comes in various flavours. This post is about Lassi with rose flavour.
Please note that it is not necessary to use a blender to make this lassi. Yoghurt may be mixed with crushed ice and rose essence by manually stirring it. However, the lassi tastes much better if blended in a blender.
Someone had asked me what rose flavour tastes like. Remember, the sweet smell of rose. A rose essence tastes exactly like the smell of the flower and it is as sweet. To my mind, comes the famous quote of Shakespeare–“Rose by any other name would smell as sweet”.
Ingredients
Yoghurt-500 ml
Crushed ice–200 ml (Crush the ice beforehands in a food processor/or by any other method so that it blends well with the yoghurt).
Sugar to taste
Rose essence- (few drops) or Rose water-1 tablespoon
Method
In a blender, blend together the yoghurt, crushed ice, sugar and rose essence/rose water. Mix well. Pour into large glasses.
Your Rose Flavoured lassi is ready.
You may also make lassi with any other flavor like mango.
